It's not about J. Ezra Merkin's scandalous financial affairs, but the show, "A Scandalous Affair" will play at the Merkin Concert Hall on April 19.This "Scandalous Affair" is a musical that depicts the real-life love affair between famed Hollywood co-stars Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy.
The show is written by Hallie Neill, who plays MacDonald. Theodore Lambrinos plays Eddy, and the pianist is Raymond Hughes. Tickets are $20-$40.
Not the scandalous story we want to know about, the financial scandal of Merkin's secret investments with Bernie Madoff. Still it is a nice touch of irony. (No, I am not going to photoshop into the graphic the faces of Bernie Madoff and Ezra Merkin, tempting as that may be. Use your imagination.)

I guess that, concurrent with a second possible Depression, we may be entering a second Golden Era of entertainment.
