Adam Sandler is a former Israeli assassin with a new calling in “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan,” written by Mr. Sandler, Robert Smigel and Judd Apatow. “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan” attempts to satirize the continuing tensions between Israel and its Arab neighbors, one of the least funny topics of modern times.

Adam Sandler is classic in his own way, though he tends to do his best work when he stays casual, not trying too hard to be funny or deep, etc.
