iPhone 3G line forms in NYC for a green cause

Image courtesy of Apple 2.0And so the line at Apple's Fifth Avenue Store for the iPhone 3G's release on Friday, July 11 begins. This time around, however, Greg Packer is nowhere to be found, and the early, early adopters at least have a noble cause besides unbridled consumerism.
A new environmental group called TheWhoFarm is looking to make a name for itself by riding the iPhone 3G wave all the way to the White House. Five members—Heyward, Casey, Dane, Daniel, and Kaitlin—are hoping to inspire whoever the 44th President of the US will be to transform the white house's 17-acre lawn into an organic farm. As much of a positive, broadly-sweeping example that accomplishment may set for the movement, the best we can say is: good luck with this one guys.
"We're here to restore the edible landscape," the groups leader, Daniel Bowman Simon, told Apple 2.0. "We want to bring the seeds of change back to the white house."...more
