IRS gives more filing time to taxpayers in 12 N.J. counties battered by storms

The Internal Revenue Service is giving a break to taxpayers in 12 New Jersey counties impacted by severe storms and flooding.Federal and state tax officials said today that they will give a break to residents in storm-battered parts of New Jersey.
Taxpayers who live or operate businesses in counties designated as federal disaster areas will have their tax deadlines postponed until May 11, including the April 15 deadline for filing individual income tax returns, making income tax payments and 2009 contributions to individual retirement accounts...
