Setting the Record Straight: Rabbi Zev Zahavy Founded the Park East Day School in 1954

Setting the Record Straight: Rabbi Zev Zahavy Founded the Park East Day School in 1954. From the synagogue bulletin of November 1954:

Rabbi Arthur Schneier did not found the school. He was not employed by the synagogue until 1962.

Sadly, Schneier demonstrates constantly that he is a man who loves to receive many honors, but who does not know how to give simple due recognition to his visionary predecessors or to the accomplishments of his peers.

I don't follow.

The newspaper says that someone is the principal of the school. There are plenty of schools founded by some rabbi who also hires the first principal of the school. Why does this article prove that the rabbi wasn't the founder?

Schneier was not employed by the synagogue until 1962. The article reminds us of the date - 1954 - when my father and mother opened the Park East Day School. It was a bold and visionary venture for them to open an Orthodox school at that time and place. Their efforts should be given proper credit.
