The previous post is wrong. Official estimates of the attendees is about 13,000 persons.

BTW, while you talk about the Presidential reception for the Pope, you didn't say anything at all about the meeting of the President with ten Chabad Rabbis from around the world on Tuesday. C'mon, Rabbi. I know that you don't like the President, but please give credit where credit is due. See this article: Local rabbi meets with president

Gosh gee. Bush signed a proclamation and met with 10 Chabad rabbis. Did he daven mincha with them too?

See, that is my point. He panders to their vanity and gives them nothing of substance. That is how he deals with all religious leaders. He does not take them seriously at all.

Rabbi, what do you want him to do with respect to Israel or the Jews in general? The Republicans have been MUCH more supportive of Israel than then Democrats have been. Just look at Carter and his love-fare with Hammas!

That's beside the point, however. Why didn't you think that the Presidential meeting with the Rabbis was worth reporting?

I suggest you read David Kuo's book Tempting Faith. Kuo worked on the White House Faith Based Initiatives and was clear that the whole program was fluff with little to no substance. In other words Bush is a phony. Carter is no friend of ours - he once did good things for peace in the region but now he is ancient history. See my post on Kuo on the blog.

Thanks, Rabbi. I'll do that. In the meantime, I want to wish you a Happy Passover if I don't otherwise have the opportunity to do so.

carter and his love fare with hamas is no different than bush and his lof fair with the saudis or condi rice and her constant lovey dovey with abbas --- she has met with him and hugged him probably more times than every other foreign leader combined. carter represents only himself and no democrats at all. (they have all thoroughly denounced him time and again)
