Teaneck Lecture Sunday Morning by Rabbi William Altshul on Aliyah to Israel in the 18th Century


Our chavrusa and dear friend Rabbi William Altshul will speak in Teaneck at the Rinat Shul Sunday morning, June 7, after the 8:00 AM Shacharit.

His topic will be, "Before Nefesh B'Nefesh: A Responsa on Aliya from Central Europe in the Early 18th Century"

Rabbi William (Shimon) Altshul received semicha from Yeshiva University where he studied with Rav Aharon Lichenstein and Rav Jospeh Soloveitchik. He has been principal of the Vancouver Talmud Torah, the Hebrew Academy of Greater Washington, the Mount Scopus Memorial College of Australia, and the Flatbush Yeshiva of Brooklyn. He made Aliya in 2006 and currently serves as the the Director of the Ludwig and Erica Jesselson Institute of Advanced Jewish Studies at Bar Ilan University.
